Francis Joseph Dvorak is an artist, art restorer, and teacher. He studied philosophy at the University of Toronto and painting in the atelier of Michael John Angel in Florence, Italy. Faithful to the 19th century tradition in which he was trained, Francis is a dedicated craftsman with classical sensibilities. With twenty years of experience as a professional artist and art instructor, Francis has painted over fifty commissioned portraits as well as five murals and fourteen stained glass windows for churches and cemeteries in Toronto. Francis is represented by John Libby Gallery and taught painting at the Freehand School of Art in Toronto. Inspired by his lifelong fascination with the wilderness of the Canadian Shield, Francis is currently working on a series of plein air landscape and figurative paintings at his woodland studio in North Kawartha, Ontario.
